By default, the configuration of the control unit software is carried out using a dataset. The parameter values of this dataset are influenced by engine and vehicle data, transmission parameters, the required shift program and other determining variables such as communication protocols, OEM-dependent settings, etc.
In order to achieve more flexibility in regard to the properties of the controller software, it is possible to set individual EOL parameters in addition to the flashing of datasets. Currently in DIWA.5 approximately 200 parameters are vehicle-specific and therefore a potential need for a complete EOL configuration.
The initial loading of a dataset simultaneously fills the complete EOL area. Individual EOL parameters can be changed subsequently using the Voith EOL Manager.
For an individual dataset parameter A, this means that it is copied to a corresponding EOL parameter A when the dataset is loaded for the first time. The software does not access dataset value A, but the corresponding EOL parameter A. This EOL parameter can be changed by the Voith EOL Manager.
Each time a dataset is loaded again, the dataset that is currently loaded in the controller decides how the EOL area is to be treated. The dataset parameter "EOL_ENABLE_OVERWRITE_BY_DS_SEL" is used for this. It controls whether EOL groups are overwritten or retained. The behavior of the individual group is displayed in the Voith EOL Manager.
